Sejarah Singkat Komunitas PIJ Sumenep
Komunitas Pamekasan mulai berkarya sejak tahun 1992 atas permintaan USKUP Malang Mgr H.Y Pandoyo Putra O’Carm (Alm). Pada saat itu pimpinan Yayasan karmel adalah R.M F.K. Purwoadisasmito (Alm) kemudian digantikan oleh R.M Hudiono Pr. Yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan R.M Joko O’Carm.
Pada tanggal 09 Juli 1992 s-d Oktober 1993, para suster perintis yaitu Sr Yosefa PIJ, Sr Imelda PIJ(alm) dan Sr Fidilis PIJ (pindah biara) secara resmi menempati biara sementara – yaitu rumah keluarga Bpk Agus Daryono yang beralamat di jalan Bonorogo No 24 Pamekasan dan sebelumnya telah diberkati oleh uskup.
Pada bulan Oktober 1993, Para suster pindah kerumah Biara baru yang beralamatkan di jalan Stadion No 130 Pamekasan dan diberkati oleh Rm T. Sihombing O’Carm. Dengan demikian para suster PIJ telah memiliki rumah biara sendiri. Para suster PIJ di Pamekasan berkarya dalam bidang pendidikan PAUD Yayasan Karmel dan karya pastoral.
