Sejarah Singkat Komunitas PIJ Curahjati
Karya Suster Sang Timur di Curahjati,dimulai atas permintaan Mgr. F.X. Hadisumarta, O.Carm Bapa Uskup Malang. Pada tanggal 29 Desember 1973. Suster Redemptora,PIJ provinsial Sang Timur membuka komunitas baru di Curahjati. Para suster yang mulai berkarya yaitu Sr.Maria Yasinta,PIJ Sr.Teresia,PIJ dan Sr.Josanti,PIJ. Para Suster berkarya dengan mengambil alih, RB/BP/KIA “ Panti Rahayu” yang semula di kelolah oleh Suster ADSK ( AK) Ungaran. Sejak 1 September 1973 BP/BKIA “ Panti Rahayu” berganti nama menjadi RB/ BP/BKIA Sumber Santosa dan dikelolah oleh paroki.
Romo H. Demmer O.Carm pengganti Y.L. Mulder O.Carm menghendaki dan mengusahakan agar Suster Sang Timur juga mengelolah persekolahan. Hari sekolah yang pertama dimulai tanggal 7 Januari 1974 di gedung milik Yayasan Karmel. Tanggal 14 April 1975 peresmian dan pemberkatan gedung TKK Sang Timur oleh Mgr. Hadisumarta,O.Carm.
RB/ BP/ BKIA Sumber Santosa diresmikan dan diberkati oleh Mgr. Hadisumarta, O.Carm pada tanggal 21 Februari 1976 .Dan diserahkan ke Yayasan Sang Timur pada tanggal 1 Agustus 1976 .Tanggal 17 Januari 1978 gedung SD Santo Agustinus milik Yayasan Karmel juga diserahkan ke Yayasan Sang Timur dan diberkati menjadi SDK Sang Timur. Dan pada tahun 1979 Panti Asuhan di buka dan berkembang sampai sekarang . Dan pada tanggal 1 Juli 1981 Yayasan Karya Sang Timur mengambil alih SMPK St.Agustinus Glaha Agung dari Yayasan Karmel . Pada tanggal 11 Agustuas 1983 secara resmi SDK Sang Timur dan SMPK St.Agustinus menjadi milik Yayasan Karya Sang Timur.
